Stowaway Cat

Here is one of the many reasons why there is not an exhaustive list of things to check on preflight inspection. You just walk around that airplane and poke bits of it until you're satisfied that it is airworthy. You'd think that would have included spotting a cat in a translucent wing, but apparently not. The cat seems less upset about the whole experience than the typical cat is about vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, or a change in cat food brand.

I have unexpectedly found cats in or on an aircraft on three occasions, but two were in the hangar and one was a cat in a cage that was part of cargo, and the PIC knew it was on board. Current boss won't let us get a hangar cat. We had to settle for a hangar fish, which doesn't do much about the mice and birds.

I need a cat to go after the rats in our attic. Our neighbors cleaned the junk out of their back yard and I think they all moved into our attic. We've closed all the screen holes and now if our neighbor will do his, we'll not have the Indy 500 over our heads at night.

I hope the poor little kitty overcame his fear of flight.

Good to see you back. Missed you the last few months. Trust you are safe and the skies are blue and winds are following.

Your employer is doing a disservice to the world of aviation. Your insights and writing style help attract prople to the world of aviation. At no time, and I have read all your posts, have you ever disclosed proprietary information or spokrn of anyone in a derogatory manner. More than sevgeral pilots for major and minor air companies and airlines blog about their experiences. Try to enlighten him. Miss you wit and outlook. Safe skies.

While doing training here in initial hire, I was told " do not forget to install the CAT door on the plane after it is parked for the night.". I wracked my brain furiously to figure out this new aviation acronym, till I realized it was literally a door to keep the cat from stowing away.
