Pilot Kill Switch

My latest new customers just installed this equipment in the airplane. Should I be worried?

Maybe I'll just retaliate and put a large PASSENGER KILL SWITCH in plain view on my console. Or maybe one in reach of their seats, labelled "PASSENGER EJECTION SEAT: DO NOT TOUCH."

Oh and on the remote chance that there's someone here with spare turkey today (Canadian Thanksgiving), I'm in Grande Prairie tonight.

Does the airplane have an autopilot so you can start playing dead if they use that toggle?

Whooo! Grande Prarie. My time in Canada (World's Second Greatest Country) was spent in the Peace Country region, GP is the "big smoke" in that neck of the woods.

*sigh* Memories, *sigh*

Or you could be worried that the 28V AUX2 has no "I"....

It would be more cause to worry if it said "Kill Pilot Switch"

OK, what does the Pilot Kill Switch do?

I'm dying to know... :)

You think I'm going to touch it and find out?!

Don't airworthiness regs require that the function of all controls be documented? :)

(Emergency disconnect for some pieces of non flight critical equipment?)

Is there a pilot light elsewhere on the panel, indicating the status of the pilot? (for status feedback for the operator of the pilot kill switch, of course :)

Can you practice pilot-out maneuvers?

Put your hand on the switch and callout: "Simulating Pilot Killed."

Then play dead.
