Replace "Research Paper" with "Blogging"
I'm not dead in a ditch. See here. Also I got a heart rate monitor with a program for the computer for planning my workouts. I never knew knowing how fast my heart was beating could be such fun.
Whew! Glad see you're still with us! I have been comparing heart monitors with and without GPS (helps track your speed while walking and running)...
Which one did you settle on and how's it working for you???
It's actually a borrowed Forerunner 50. I run with a handheld GPS to get distance, and try to add the two together.
Review so far: comfortable sensor strap, very reliable at reporting the data, huge ugly watch, would be very cool to have GPS incorporated.
I will be on the lookout for one of my own, but $400 is a little steep for the Forerunner 450.
You can use Sport Tracks (Free) to overlay your GPS track with the HR track for a more conslusive picture.
The 305 is available much cheaper, and will continue to decrease in price as the 405 starts to trickle into availability.
Have fun enjoying the runs!
And there was me, thinking you'd sneaked off on holiday to sunny climes.
Is it my galloping senility, or has your list of resolutions shrunk somewaht?
Don't overdo the running, I know of more than one "young" person messing up their joints through excessive running!
I have the polar F6, not too much functionality other than a watch and HR monitor, but I wear a different watch when I need the other stuff. I like the F6 because the watch face is the smallest you can get which fits my tiny female wrist better (And not a bad price). The chest strap also interacts with my eliptical and displays my HR right onto it.
I believe there is a website that you can go to that allows you to show it your running route and it will calculate the distance for you. Can't quite remember what it's called though.
Sounds like fun.
//as I sit here with my broken back dreaming of the days I get to run and fly again....
No fair Dagny.
Great cartoon, they obviously have tried out "Second Life".
Speaking of GPS and nav in general, have you seen teh USAF recruiting ad about satellite vulnerability?

Hi. I saw from your comment on my International Tag blog, that you're one of those few people who might care that we're finally posting new stuff again.
What exactly is the purpose of knowing ones heart rate? Is that so you can go WHOA it looks like heartattack any minute now, better slow down?
oh no biggie really greybeard.
I just hurt my back at work at the end of Aug, and am still off, and going nuts. Finally had an mri done, and will find out in a week or so if I need surgery...fun times...LOL
