Bring Beer

Yes, I know I haven't updated in a year and a half. I do miss you guys, and I think about you when things happen that you would appreciate. I'm in my office--the one with a desk, not the good one with wings--late tonight, because maintenance is, and they have questions for me. I'm cleaning up old files. I found an outdated contact list for approved maintenance organizations. It's nicely formatted in three colours, I think colour-coded for the type of service. You probably all know Airparts of Lockhaven--didn't I get a fuel gauge from there once when the needle fell off the old one? There's a fuel cells place, and lots of avionics shops, and an upholstery specialist. The contact name for the custom upholsterer is printed as "Walter the Grouch," and there's a handwritten notation next to it. "Bring Beer."

Beer, the universal aviation currency.

I was hoping that you hadn't gone west or anything - please post again sooner than later.

So good to see you on the blog feed again. I miss your tales of flying above the prairies. Come back and tell us some good stories.

A couple of weeks ago I finished a mystery by a Canadian writer set in "The North" --
it featured airplanes and snowmobiles and dog teams, and I thought of you and wondered what you were up to. I'd love to hear more from you, though I do understand: I blogged faithfully for about ten years, two posts a month, and earlier this year, I stopped because I just couldn't do it any more. But you're a real writer! Have you published a book yet?

Aah Beer, the universal alternative-currency.

Good to see you back.

I agree it's good to hear from you again as I've often wondered if you were still buzzing around the skies, hoping all was well.

While I regard it as your choice how and when you post, I'm certainly keen to hear from you more often.

Great to see a post at last. I clicked the link now and then hoping you might be back. Please don't leave it so long again!

Good to hear you haven't quit, though flying a desk just isn't you!

Almost 2 1/2 years ago, and partly due to your inspirational blog, I bit on the bullet and started Flexwing lessons. As a motorcycle enthusiast, I'm still loving it. I'm 72 (body) 32 (brain) Thanks, 'Trix.

I came across your blog from a link on another blog some time ago, and slowly read through all of it (well I may have skipped some of the more technical sections...) and I keep meaning to post and say how I have enjoyed it all, but as you don't post any more it seemed a bit of an odd thing to do. So anyway now there is a new(er) post I will tell you that I have enjoyed your blog very much indeed.

I pop by once in a blue moon to see if you're doing a better job blogging than me.
You're not.
I've retired... therefore there's less motivation to blow off steam.
And what little steam does still accumulate frequently gets vented on FaceBook.
I'm glad you're still with it.
I'll stop by next year.
