Hockey Gold

Someone asked me once if all Canadians are obsessed with hockey. Are we? This is the 401, Canada's busiest highway, during the men's Olympic hockey final. I must admit that it was Sunday morning, so not a time you'd expect a lot of traffic. But then consider that more than one province made temporary changes to the liquor laws to allow bars to sell beer during the game. Hockey has a special place in our hearts.

It kind of says something about the special place that beer occupies in our hearts, too. I mean, if we can't enjoy a gold-medal game in our national sport without it, even on a Sunday morning, beer must be pretty important to us.

This is something that we Finns share with you! I bet we could find similar views from our streets during the quarter final and the bronze game... Congratulations for Team Canada, next time we will again try to beat you :-)

Well done Canada! My Canadian friends and relatives were all a-buzz on FB. I'm not a hockey fan myself, but I know how important it is to you all up in the Great White.

Ventti: Your guys were great! A Finland-Canada final would be awesome in four years.
