Screaming Busy

If this gets posted, I have stopped blogging for long enough to forget this was here. Likely I've run out of prewritten blog entries. I've probably lost interest, internet access, or my password. Or maybe I got a life. Expect the comments section on this entry to contain a note from someone who knows I'm okay, and then a note from me telling you to stop e-mailing me already, because if I'm too busy to blog I'm probably not reading my blog e-mail either.

Busy. Will blog or officially end blog later.

Or if no one turns up to claim I'm okay, then perhaps I'm not, but you are absolutely forbidden to post, quote, read or even refer to the poem High Flight in my memory. I hate it and anyone disregarding this notice will be cut from my will, banned or evicted from my funeral, forbidden to comment on my blog, and haunted by malevolent spirits. Not even mine. Malevolent douchebag spirits whom I'll designate.

Are you copiloting for Santa these days? Must be a hassle trying to learn all the reindeer names and strategic landing points while sitting next to an overweight old white guy with a beard who smokes a pipe during flight telling you all those old crony stories. Not to mention all those elves in green and red felt clothes who whiz around on their 3 wheeled trikes fighting for loading space.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt!

I hope you are OK.....

My father-in-law has expressly forbidden anyone at his funeral or memorial to refer to his life as a journey. He said anyone who does should be ejected, even if it is their space.

I've not seen recent evidence of her in one of her "alternate" (real) lives... I suspect she's deep into a combination of working, blog burnout, and involvement in her alternate passions.

I've been disappointed not to see more Aviatrix posts. There is some interesting content over at Oddball Pilot.

I guess I'm it: To judge from her Facebook, Aviatrix is not only OK but having an unusually fabulous time.

Glad to hear she's having a great time & thanks for linking "reality" (at least as far as FaceBook can ever be considered 'reality' :) with the blog :) :)

She reports that her current job doesn't give her much time off, and she just hasn't posted...

So, at least, she seems well. And too busy beats gathering dust!

How about the Simpson's version of High Flight?

Homer [to Bart]: Son, we are about the break the surly bonds of gravity, and punch the face of God.

Good to hear she is OK. I miss her posts ! I assume the Facebook page is private or in some way not an alternate to the blog. If not, please post the link ! Fly safely Aviatrix ! Between Flight Level 390 going off the air and this I'm missing all my favorite aviation bloggers :)

Um... Remember that even a reference to a spoof of the poem that shall not be named will, sooner or later, show up in one of her mailboxes. Me, I'm running for cover down here in California!

ADBBingo, 'trix tries hard to keep her private life private. I'd hate to find her on my doorstep someday ready ready to beam me someplace unpleasant - or worse, never answer another email!

I've read that Captain Dave *may* reappear someday in another forum. Just about every other aviation blogger I followed has gone dark.

Now, how did folks get Tinkerbell back up 'n flying? Maybe... :-)

Those of us with the great good fortune to know (even though I think I'm stretching quite a bit to include myself in that group) 'trix in real time also know that Michael5000 has stated the situation very well.

Speaking for myself, I also miss her posts here. Her blog is but one facet of an intricately cut gem.

Happy landings.

Thanks Michael5000 for letting us know she's doing well - it's always a little melancholy when a blog goes quiet and you've no real idea why.

I hope she's keeping notes and will be back one day to tell us all about it.

I'm so ever glad to know that are happy and healthy, whatever you are doing. And as for the blog, I know a F***-Off when I read one. Same to you! I don't do HTML inclusions, but I do know how to operate my delete key.

I'm sorry you felt slighted, Anonymous. I wrote that post literally years ago, after a reader expressed concern that something could happen to me and they would never know what. Blogger allows me to schedule posts in advance, and that one I scheduled months into the future, and then kept punting it further into the future, as time passed and I wrote more entries. Perhaps if you re-read it with that in mind you'll see it less as a vague, I don't care about you," and more of the intended, "this signifies that I haven't blogged in a long time."

It was intended to give the opposite impression to the one you received, that even though I was unable to post, for whatever reason, that I wanted to acknowledge you guys. Mostly I haven't been posting because it's awkward to write and edit a blog entry on an iPhone, and I haven't had a lot of access to my computer lately when I don't have pressure to do something else.

My current job doesn't leave me parked in a hotel room the way the previous one did. I go flat out for weeks or months, and then when I have time off I go and see people or places, rather than blogging.

I haven't deleted the blog because I think I may be inclined to use it again at some point. I still think in blog entries sometimes. I've met some great people through the blog, and really appreciate the support readers have given me, but I refuse to make writing for it something I feel guilty about when it doesn't get done. Guilt at not doing things is, in increasing order of severity, reserved for housework, martial arts practice, visiting elderly relatives, all of which suffer because of work.

I thought I was the only pilot who hated "High Flight".

Although we will all miss you, it's perfectly fine for you to stop blogging. Your energy, discipline, and intelligence are examples to us all, and we've been very fortunate to have witnessed a portion of your life through your blog. But now you're putting those strengths into your work or your personal development, and we must be patient. You are capable of amazing accomplishments, and I believe that's just what you'll do. It will be fun to hear about those someday.

We set you free, to slip the surly bonds of Blog.........the anti-bot trap was making my eyes hurt anyway! Good to know you are full tilt into real life, take care, and all that.
