The statistics counter that I use tells me how many visitors I've had per day, week, hour and so on, and also has a "Who's On Now?" feature that gives me the town and time of any visitor I've had in the previous 20 minutes. It usually tells me something about someone who has come and gone, but tonight there's someone reading through the whole site.
It caught my attention because the page they were reading was an old one, from months ago, and I wondered, "What brought them to that?" and then I saw that they had thirty six page views over the previous hundred and eight minutes. There's one post my reader keeps returning to, whether it's an accident of the back button or a question on the topic, I don't know. I want to reach through the screen and talk. Leave a comment. Send an e-mail. I'm nice to visitors, really.

Kia Ora (Hello) & Happy New Year from a krazy blogger from down under in New Zealand. I have no blogroll or "counter" on my blog, because people will start to expect me to serve them, when they pay a visit !!!
It's very easy to get way too interested in your visitor statistics, but they're fun to look at now and again, to see where people come from and why. Don't worry, I can't look into your computer and see if you've been visiting porn sites lately.
Hi
That might have been me. I found you through another av site and I just started reading. I was a airline pilot wannabe but I never went past ppl. Other commitments, etc. I like reading all the past posts as it tells me a little about you. Keep trying and you will get that airline job. Good luck
Arnie
Was I really on that long? Time flies when you're having fun. What page did I keep going back to?
Arnie
Bonjour,
Just came across your blog today. Pretty cool. I had to pass this link on I found recently which is full of cool photos of aircraft. (by the way, it's not my site).
The link is: http://standblog.org/blog/2005/12/28/93114574-jolies-photos-d-avions
You and your readers might find it ineteresting.
All the best...
Thanks Arnie. I deleted a rather odd comment that appeared to be directed at you.
So Aviatrix, do you recognize most of the regular 'anonymous' visitors. I have to admit I am one of them. I visut this blog very often, more often than you update it. :-)
No, I don't recognize my anonymous commentators, save for one who is a little different. I could theoretically match the timestamps on the comments to the visit times in the referrer logs to find the IPs or hostnames of commenters, but I'm not that badly hooked on checking my visitor stats.
I'm just happy you come by to see me, and happy I have someone to relate my adventures to.
I, for one, welcome our avatrix overlord. If one were to look at your past stats, one would find that I too am guilty of having found your blog and ended up reading it in it's entirely. I'm not in aviation, but I find your (and others) blogs interesting. Keep up the good work!
I am in Portland Oregon and used to fly 10 years ago in college (had 200 hours before I stopped). I have been reading every interesting aviation blog I can find (FL 390, Sam, Rant Air, Flying Adventures, Speedbird, Captain Doug, etc) over the last couple months. I will typically find all the old posts and read from start to finish. It is 4/2010 and I am now reading your blog from 1/2006. Very interesting. Keep up the good work!
I remove the old posts when they contain story arcs or possibly identifying information about clients, employers or co-workers, so reading the old posts doesn't give you the whole story. I posted almost every day until 2010, when I cut back to every second day.
