Wind Missing

By next morning conditions have not changed much:

SPECI CYLL 241225Z AUTO /////KT 1 1/4SM -SN SCT006 BKN011 BKN019 OVC028 M00/M01 A2973 RMK SLP095 WND MISG

That means it's just at freezing, still snowing, with lots of clouds, and the wind went missing overnight. I wonder if the anemometer blew down or froze.

If I start to feel too trapped in my hotel room, I can always signal for help, though. This isn't from this hotel, but I forgot to post it then, and it amuses me. You're supposed to stick it under the door to call for help. Good idea, really.

Did you hear about the blonde who was trapped in a hotel room? He was confused by the "do not disturb" tag hanging on the doorknob.

thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the Bison.

@Sarah - I've often had to cover up the "Do Not Enter" sign on the flight deck door just to get to work! Yes I am (at least was) blonde...

I'm trying and failing to come up with a scenario where such a sign would be useful, at least one that would be common enough for a hotel to have the idea of producing it. Do you think many of their guests get held hostage and tied by random strangers they've picked up, who then steal their phones and cut the cord to the hotel phone, but leave them enough room to manouvre to wriggle over to the door undetected and slide the 'help' sign under it? Maybe you should have hung on to it in case you need it at some other, less well-prepared, hotel?

I think it's for fire situations. If the door is warm, you're supposed to leave it shut. But it's a way to let the firefighters know you're in the room.

It can also be used to politely remind the person using your bathroom that they need to hurry up with their shower before someone's pants are soiled.

You guys are all so witty today! The people in the FBO wonder what I'm giggling at.

Sorry about the slow spam removal. I've been out flying.

I have never seen that in ANY room I've been in. Not that in an early morning "situation" (see Coyote Ugly) couldn't benefit from that thing. Nice work, keep it up, we enjoy it.

I have one of those red "Remove Before Flight" tags on my car key ring.

My (blonde) daughter borrowed the car, for the first using my keys rather than her own. Yes, she remove the tag off the keyring before starting the car.

With all these blonde jokes flying around, I'm sure glad I'm a greenette.
