The trick is to fill from the lowest pressure tank which has higher pressure than the bottle being filled and progressively use higher pressure tanks in turn. That way you keep a tank available for topping off at the highest pressure.

My bet would be that somebody got this wrong so the A&P said "hands off" to everybody else.Edhttp://www.edavies.nildram.co.uk/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10000144.post-14840400315272317022010-09-16T18:12:01.924+00:002010-09-16T18:12:01.924+00:00Aviatrix, I know you would never do this, and am n...Aviatrix, I know you would never do this, and am not suggesting that you do, but...

I get my oxygen tank filled with industrial oxygen at the local welding supply company. They also sell ABO but, and this is from the owner's own mouth: "They all (industrial, medical, ABO) are the same gas from the same source, the difference is insurance".

I've seen one major aviation oxygen manufacturer say the same, and interviewed another who was in the aviation and medical oxygen business for many years tell me this as well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10000144.post-39602321360539743412010-09-16T14:19:34.437+00:002010-09-16T14:19:34.437+00:00Oxygen tanks and the refill scare me a little bit....Oxygen tanks and the refill scare me a little bit. I've heard stories about what can happen with careless use ( grease or oil on the fittings ) and have a healthy respect for O2 fueled fires. So I'm glad to have someone work on them that knows what they're doing, though requiring a mechanic is a bit much.

It does sound like this isn't a favorite place. Aviatrix is even grumping about airplane noise! Was it dark? If so, I did the same thing an evening last week. It can be tough for a private pilot to stay "night current", with 3-in-90-days - odd as it may sound to someone who flies for a living, sometimes all night.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09991660841701835065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10000144.post-30858990970163212372010-09-16T11:12:42.749+00:002010-09-16T11:12:42.749+00:00I find it hard to believe there is a place so bad ...I find it hard to believe there is a place so bad you can't find adventure in it, Aviatrix...Rhondahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11171628629488905916noreply@blogger.com
