During WWII Jean Batten ferried fighters from the safety of homeland to the active theatres. Batten was a pioneer aviator, and certainly a woman to be reckoned with. I would guess that to be an aviator in the 1930s you'd be taking your life into your hands so just to take to the air would require more than an average quantity of courage. Batten had courage in bucketloads.Mike Kearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979170611372732818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10000144.post-32445065984845873692010-09-15T12:48:31.610+00:002010-09-15T12:48:31.610+00:00Amazing that Ms Batten flew with with Charles King...Amazing that Ms Batten flew with with Charles Kingsford-Smith before going to the UK - Sydney Airport is named after him and Auckland Airport after her.flightless birdnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10000144.post-59092589004093155202010-09-15T04:11:04.823+00:002010-09-15T04:11:04.823+00:00Thanks for the video!
